Korea
Korean Peninsula, which spans 1,100km north to south. The Korean Peninsula lies on the northeastern section of the Asian continent. South Korea's total population was estimated to be 48,456,369 with a density of 498 people square kilometer and total land area of 100,032 ㎢ (2008).
 
Jeju
Mild Climate Jeju: mild oceanic climate throughout the year with the smallest annual temperature range in the country.
The temperature for the hottest summer months averages no more than 34.7℃and no less than -1.5℃ for winter.
The island is 73km wide and 41km long with a total area of 1,848 Jeju the largest island in South Korea. Peace Island Jeju: "Sam Mu" ("Three Nothings") - no beggars, no thieves, no gates.

Access by Air
Jeju international airport has a total of 17 direct air routes including domestic flights (departure from Incheon/Gimpo International Airport) and international flights (departure from Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing, Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok). ICC Jeju is located in the Jungmun Sightseeing Complex at the south-end of Jeju island. It takes about 45 minutes to arrive by car from the Jeju International Airport along the south seashore. There is Limousine Bus in front of Gate #1 at Jeju International Airport.
 
Visas
Nationals of visa waiver countries can enter Korea without a visa as long as the purpose of their visit is tourism or temporary visit. If they want to engage in profitable activities such as employment, they must apply for a Korean VISA suitable for their purpose. Most nationals do not need a VISA for the Conference at Jeju, Korea. However, several nationals will need to get their VISA for entry in advance.
 
Currency Exchange & Credit Cards
The unit of the Korean currency is the Won. Major foreign currencies that can be exchanged at banks, hotels, and the airport include the US Dollar, Japanese Yen, Euro, and UK Sterling. Internationally recognized credit cards including VISA, American Express, Diner's Club, Master card, and JCB and are accepted at most hotels, department stores, and restaurants. However, foreign issued ATM cards may have limited use. Foreign Exchange Bank provides exchange rate on quoting time.
 
Electricity System
Outlets for 220 volts 60 cycles are dominant. Please check the power supply before using your equipment.
 
Climate
As a peninsular, Korea's climate is characterized by four distinct seasons. Spring and autumn are rather short, summer is hot and humid, and winter is cold and dry with abundant snowfall. The average temperature of Jeju island in August is about 26.5℃.
