Short Papers
Participants are invited to submit short papers no later than 1 May 2010. Short papers submitted after this date will not be considered.

The short paper will be reviewed by the Scientific Congress Committee. Refusal of a short paper is possible when the scientific work as described does not fall within the scope of the congress. Authors will be notified about the acceptance of their contribution by 1 June 2010.

Accepted short papers will be gathered and presented in the proceedings of the congress. However, if none of the short paper authors are duly registered for the congress i.e. have all congress fees paid one month after registration, the short paper will not be presented in the proceedings nor will it be assigned to a Poster Session.

Each parallel poster session comprises three short lectures based on selected submitted short papers. The short papers for oral presentation in parallel poster session will be selected by the Scientific Congress Committee.

ICoMST 2010 Prize!

This year, six prizes will be awarded for a poster presentation from each of the 6 poster sessions.
The total prize is worth 6,000 US dollars and the money will be divided between the winners.  

The winners from each session will be presented with the prize of 1,000 US dollars.
The winners will be selected by the scientific committee of ICoMST 2010.

The judges will put emphasis on the contribution that has the most impact on either knowledge or application for the meat industry, or the furthering of meat science and technology.

Participants who wish to be considered for the Prize at ICoMST 2010 need to place a tick in the field allocated for the Prize when submitting their short paper.
expressions of interest will be accepted until registration at the congress closes.
The judges’ decision will be announced at each poster sessions of ICoMST 2010.



Poster Presentation
Short papers not offered an oral presentation will be offered a poster presentation - however - all presenters are encouraged to present their results as a poster, including short papers that have been chosen for oral presentations. No short paper will be turned down for poster presentation except if the message is not clearly presented or if the scientific work does not fall within the scope of the congress.

All posters should be present during the entire congress. The author is required to be present during the period allocated for the poster presentation.

Guidelines for submitting a poster
Please follow the instructions for submitting a short paper.
Delegates are advised to organize posters into sections, including:

Title/Authors/Affiliations
Introduction/Objectives
Materials/Methods
Results/Discussion
Conclusions

Posters will be organized into selected topic areas. Poster board surface area can be up to 150 cm vertically and 120 cm horizontally. None of the material (label, figures, charts, tables, summary, etc.) shall extend beyond the poster board surface. Lettering for poster titles and authors should be at least 60 point and easy to read from viewers’ distance of five feet (1.2 meters). Lettering in the body should be at least 24 point, and in references be at least 20 point. Illustrations should be clearly visible from a distance and less detailed than those used for screen presentations. Using color may clarify an image, but be sure that the background and font color are compatible for easy reading. Full written paragraphs should be avoided. Poster locations will be indicated by assigned number.
